About Me.

I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and a qualified Integrative Counsellor.

Whilst studying Psychology I gained clinical experience in the NHS working as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist in the early intervention an detection team.

​​

I graduated university with a Masters Degree in Occupational Psychology and I have spent 17 years as a Work Psychologist specialising in Change Management. Together, these experiences have shaped the counsellor I am today.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can where you can just be, to explore your experiences and to feel supported in moving forward positively in the direction that feels right for you. Every person is unique, so I tailor my approach to your individual needs

I work with adults experiencing a range of challenges including, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, grief and life transitions such as retirement, redundancy, divorce and bereavement.

Drawing on approaches such as psychodynamic, Gestalt, person-centred, CBT, and solution-focused techniques, I have experience with issues including anxiety, depression, low self-confidence, relationship difficulties, self-harm, phobias, retirement, redundancy and bereavement.

Advanced Diploma in Counselling

My advanced diploma is accredited by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

This 3 year intensive course which covered theory and practice by undertaking over 100 hours of clincal practice

Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Aston University, covering a range of psychological topics.

 

As part of my course I ​completed a clinical placement in the NHS working with the Early Intervention and detection team

Suicide Risk Assessment 

Level 2 accredited

This 2-day course focused is based on APT's acclaimed DICES® programme for risk assessment and management. It focuses purely on the risk of suicide, covering,

And does so in a client-focused way, designed to help the client from the very first moment of contact

Psychological Assessment

Level A & B

I undertook and intensive course with Pearson Clinical Assessments and I am trained in the delivery and interpretation of,

 

  • Cognitive ability testing

  • Personality profiling

  • Other clinical assessments for common mental health issues such as Anxiety and Depresssion

Primary Certificate in Stress Management

This two-day programme included the theory of stress and its management at the individual and organisational levels.

 

The programme took a cognitive-behavioural approach to stress management and is based on current research and practice
